People still celebrate their birthdays here, don't they? If you've arrived as an eighteen-year-old, and some time passes and your birthday rolls around, it's natural to want to celebrate it -- especially with the friendships that spring up over time.

On the other hand, I've heard from the grapevine that when you return to your own world, you're dropped off at the exact same point as when you've left.

If an eighteen-year-old celebrates his nineteenth birthday here, would that make that hypothetical person both eighteen and nineteen at the same time?

Because some friends needed help getting to Goldenrod City and you can't make the tree move without the Magical Water Canteen and the third badge.

W-Well, I wouldn't really say that...

And I have 3 so far! But I've been here for a long time because I'm waiting on someone to win a gym badge first.

What city do you like best so far?

I like Goldenrod the best! It's a huuuge city and even though I stayed here for two months like I did back with Violet City, it's much more fun here.

Well, bigger cities tend to have more fun things in store, just as a general rule. What do you do in your spare time, besides training?

Maybe eat out or hang out in the hotel rooms and stuff... And watch over my Pokemon. I don't have too much free time.

I am! I used to travel back in my home world too, so it's not anything new to me.

Besides, I have to prove my self-worth to my teacher!

I'm going to spar with Teacher! And I'm definitely going to win as soon as my arm heals all the way. [She holds up her arm in a cast.]

That must have been quite the accident. Asking a nurse to take a look at it might make it heal faster, though.

They said that they already did what they could, so I'm just waiting for it to heal back up so I can take off my cast. I can imagine my arm being stiff though...

Stiff, maybe. But stiff's better than broken.

[Wry.] It should be all right, so long as you exercise a little and not strain it too much.

I already exercise a lot because my pokemon aren't the only ones who are training! I train with them, but it's not like I... shoot electricity or anything though. I just run every now and then to check up on them and stuff.
