[for those of you early birds in Goldenrod, downtown, the video screen flickers to show--

the main street has been covered with sidewalk chalk drawings of dubious nature. there are several buckets of chalk scattered down the street, broken and whittled-down chalk pieces dotting the landscape amongst chalk drawings big and small, childish and masterful. there are cartoonish doodles of cacti, drawings of eyes, large, unwieldy birds and open books with fanciful, mythical creatures popping out of its pages. general outlines of gowns, chalk sketches of hands, shaded in, abstract pieces of shapes and lines that stretch as far as the eye can see.

it's only nine in the morning, and the streets are already filled with drawings. on a fairly blank patch of concrete, surrounded by the city proper, the culprit is hunkered down diligently, doodling small, cartoon kittens with large eyes and whiskers that end in flowers.

on your approach, his chalk breaks, little pieces glancing off the sidewalk.]

[ good morning, Fuji. Rise will be sure to greet you properly and ask all sorts of questions after she makes sure the Furret doesn't ingest chalk in her righteous fury. ]

[... there's a pause here as he looks up at the ruckus, curious. but he supposes he should have expected it-- the sight of a ferret going after chalk pieces elicits a chuckle.

he puts down his broken chalk piece and grins.]

[ah, cats. he waves a broken piece of chalk at the Persian lightly in a friendly manner, before looking at the approaching boy.]

[Cocona was just going to get groceries in the morning, but then she sees some colorful art on the sidewalk. Curious to see more, she follows the trail and then she sees--

She slowly approaches him, since to her, it looked like he was pretty... busy with drawing on the sidewalk. But the art was pretty and she wanted to compliment him on that.]

Shuusuke? [She slightly tilts her head, trying to see what he's drawing now as she pops up behind him.]

[and he peers behind him at the approaching figure, pensive, before breaking into a smile upon recognizing the girl.

turns back to place his chalk against the sidewalk to draw another line across the surface.]

[ done with a trip to the department store, kagami's set and ready to go home with her bag of new stuff when she spies an impressive chalk drawing followed by a not so awesome drawing and then another one, she follows the trail all the way to the source. ]
